Where it comes from
Every page names its source. These are the ones we use, with what each one gives us.
- IMF
- Commodity prices, inflation and GDP
- World Bank
- GDP, population and inflation by country
- OECD
- Consumer prices and interest rates
- BIS
- Central bank policy rates
- US EIA
- Petroleum and natural gas prices, stocks and production
- ONS
- UK prices, rents, earnings and output
- Frankfurter
- Exchange rates, from the European Central Bank and other central banks (via Frankfurter)
- Apple and service price pages
- Apple Store prices, and each subscription service's own pricing page, country by country
How often it's checked
- Daily
- Exchange rates and Apple Store prices
- Weekly and monthly
- EIA series, IMF commodity prices and subscription prices
- As published
- Official statistics from the World Bank, OECD, BIS and ONS, on each one's release calendar
Each page shows when its data was last updated. If a source is late, the page says so rather than showing old figures as new.
Use the data
Everything on the site is also available through our API: exchange rates, indicators, commodity and energy series, Apple and subscription prices, as JSON. The Free plan includes 250 requests a month, and paid plans add more.
